The data for this powder only goes up to 400 grains in 45 70. I have some 405 grains i want to load. Been slim pickens at the LGS and reloading supply place. I picked up the 530 because its good for 223 and 6.5 grendel.
Would the 400 grain loads be too light?

Stets, I looked in 3 different manuals and came up empty with that powder[N530]. If you found/have a load with a 400gr cast, you should be fine.
I can't imagine 5 grains making a difference. Perhaps reduce the charge 2/10ths of a grain?

Just watch your brass but 5 grains in a bullet isnt going to make that much difference. Like Tom said back it down a half grain and give it a try.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
