Forty, I like shooting those in my Pietta 1873; .45 Colt or .45 acp, they work. Rummaging around in the shop again and found a box of Speer semi jacketed HP .45cal/225gr bullets. .451". Man, thinking these might work in one or both on my Italian imports. What do you think? I believe they are discontinued. Have about 40 of 'em.

Yeah that is a nice find! Give them a test and see how they shoot. Maybe line up 6 one gallon jug of water and see the expansion and penetration too.
Those Speer bullets for .45 Colt were always hard for me to find even in good times especially the Gold Dots. The Hornady 230 XTP works about like the Gold Dot in the 830-900 FPS zone and am going to load some of the ones coming for my .45 Colt revolvers.

These are certainly dated; store sticker says $8.85 from Fowler's, somebody else' sticker says 5 bucks. I must have bought these at a garage sale or someone gave them to me. Soon as I empty some .45 Colt brass, I'm loading some of these dudes up. Should be fun.
