I just got off the phone with Evan .... he's undergoing the infusion of the new antibiotic as this is being typed .... he is as upbeat as ever and we are making plans to go out and eat with him later this evening .... we sure hope this one takes care of whatever variety of bugs that are causing his infection

Prayers for a speedy recovery. I know a guy that went through this exact same thing but with a knee surgery. It took a while but they got him straightened out.
Just have to find the right drug to knock the infection out. I went the other route with my knee surgery and had a blood clot. Sometimes it seems there is no winning
with this stuff.

As always, thanks for all your good wishes and advice. I'll take everything I can get!

The good news is, for all of this, I feel pretty darn good and the hip pain is minimal. BUT, there's something going on behind the scenes in the bloodwork that the docs don't like, so we'll keep swatting away at it until we get it under control.

Back to work at Parks and Rec this afternoon. Looking forward to seeing some of my co-workers and Parks' "patrons" as we call them.

Glad to hear! Once they get the pathology they'll get the needed antibiotic.

Wow. Hang in there ESquared. I went in 2 weeks ago and got the diagnosis that it’s up to me when I should schedule my R hip replacement. Now I’m thinking I may just push it out a little longer (and still healing from the Rotator Cuff surgery).

Praying you get well soon!
