Silver Rounds
Since the silver/gold ratio is around 97/1 I’m thinking of buying some silver rounds or maybe Silver Eagles. What are your thoughts?

Gene, after the last market crash I invested in silver Eagles and 10 ounce bars. It was an exercise in frustration. The only way I think we will see growth in metals is if the economy seriously goes bad. I don’t expect that to happen, even though many are trying to make it so . Do your homework, good luck. Jim
The ‘silver lining’, I was able to buy my Henry with the sale proceeds.

I bought a lot back in 2008 to 2010 and still have them. I bought them not as an investment but rather a hedge against zombies.Cofisher wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 9:36 pmGene, after the last market crash I invested in silver Eagles and 10 ounce bars. Re: Silver Rounds
I have bought both gold and silver from Texas Precious Metals through the years and have been very happy with their service. They make silver and gold products and they are 99.9999% pure. Most mints make 99.999% pure, not a big difference but I like TPI quality. I am currently happy with my gold and silver positions.
I am 79 years old so not looking for real long term returns. I am very long on Vietnam dong and Iraq dinar and look for some action on both in the near future. Sources to buy the dong and dinar are drying up quickly. Current info/chatter on dinar and dong at this site. https://www.dinarguru.com/ A very risky investment but the returns can be huge! 1,000,000 dinar for about $1,000 presently.

Re: Silver Rounds
A few years back we bought quite a bit of gold and silver. We've almost doubled our investment on the gold, but on the silver we've lost our ass. Can't tell you why but silver went from $39.00 and ounce to what it is this morning, $18.57. I doubt silver will go much lower and it might be a good investment right now.
On the gold, my Wife and I each tried a different tact. She went for the gold Double Eagles while I took the same amount and bought antique gold pieces. I figured if I could buy an ounce of antique gold for just about the same price as Eagles I would have two values to bank on. If gold took a plunge, the antique coins might still hold more value because of what they are.
Time will tell.
Buy only from a reputable dealer. Buyer beware.

Re: Silver Rounds
Not quite right, we bought the silver at $29.00 an ounce, not $39. Had to look it up.cooperhawk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 9:18 amCan't tell you why but silver went from $39.00 and ounce to what it is this morning, $18.57.

Re: Silver Rounds
I also have to say that gold is much easier to handle. The same amount of gold can be carried in your pocket, while the silver came in a wooden crate. It takes two safety deposit boxes to hold it all.
