The first song that I recall hearing from Charlie was Long Haired Country Boy. It became sort of an anthem for us young guys who had to keep our hair within military regulations. Some of us went into that first boot camp barber shop as long haired country boys. Came out humbled recruits.
Charlie touched so many people with his gift of song. He has earned his place to kick off his boots and make himself at home.

Charlie Daniels has passed away. Had a stroke. I loved Charlie and he has one song that I think of all the time Simple Man. I will never forget him.
Al, perfect song for the present times.

I 100% agree, Al.

"I ain't nothin' but a simple man
They call me a redneck I reckon that I am
But there's things going on
That make me mad down to the core.
I have to work like a dog to make ends meet
There's crooked politicians and crime in the street
And I'm madder'n hell and I ain't gonna take it no more."
