Fastest Draw in Hollywood

I put in this query, and was shocked by the answer it brought up. I had seen the men whose names were at the top of the list in fast draw gear on posters, and knew one of them was a huge fan of fast draw... But when Bob Munden says they are the fastest..

He says that Sammy Davis Jr. was 2nd fastest, second only to a friend of his...

Jerry Lewis. :o Proven at a large championship at Knottsberry Farm. Guess you gotta do something to pass the time in the dressing rooms.
:D

Wonder who is the fastest today?

Hugh O'Brien claimed he was faster and challenged Audie Murphy to a fast draw contest, Audie Murphy agreed, but only if they used LIVE ammo. O'Brien wisely declined.

Jerry Lewis!? Wow! Wouldn't have thought that. I had read that Glenn Ford and James Arness were lighting fast. Knew about Sammy Davis Jr., but, JL? Wow!

Pretty cool, didn't know that.
I did know that Sammy was supposed to be one of the best.

many, many years ago Arvo Ojala came to Gatlinburg, TN promoting his high dollar fast draw rig .... he was the fellow Marshal Dillon faced in the opening of Gunsmoke for many years .... as most will recall, his shot sounded before Marshall Dillon's .... he gave lessons to most of the Hollywood cowboy stars including Audie Murphy .... as part of his show he staged a fast draw competition against all comers .... the day I was there there I was well back in long line .... that turned out to be a good thing for me because he had to be pretty dang tired by the time my turn came .... yep, I actually outdrew him .... no way I could have if I'd of been up in the front of the line

I will go with Chuck Connors. He also played pro basketball and baseball. Not only was he fast but also very accurate. Course this is all with a rifle. A lever rifle.

As much as some hate him, Tom Cruise took the classes and put in the time. Look at the scene in Collateral, where the two hoods steal his briefcase. Of course that scene is shot with blanks, but in his training, he shot the drills, with live ammo, and impressed the trainer by the end of the sessions.

Kenau Reeves is the same, except for John Wick, he was taking 3-gun training and multiple discipline martial arts. He burned up the 3-gun course.

There are others.

He wasn't the fastest, but he was the shakiest gun in the west. :)
