Dad update

Post by markiver54 » Sun May 10, 2020 10:15 am

Was getting in the car last night after picking up take out for supper when my phone rang.
Could not believe it...caller ID said Dad!
I quickly pulled over and answered. He sounded about normal, and said Hi Son, sorry it's been a while since we talked. I couldn't believe it. He was calling from the rehab facility he's in, now that he's been released from the hospital. He has now tested negative for Covid. One more test in a couple days, and if it is negative, he can then go home!!!
Needless to say, my Step Mom is beside herself.
Hard to believe...88 years old, at one point we almost lost him. Was so bad, they wanted to put him on a ventilator, but that was not an option because he has a DNR order, and yet he pulled through...PTL!
Thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers!! I told him, there were many more people praying for him than he knew of.
He recieved 62 cards while sick.

Wonderful news, Mark; and I'll just bet hearing the sound of his voice put you over the top! Quite a remarkable outcome. I hope you two begin to talk on the phone often. Thanks for sharing the news with us.
