Tombstone Territory tv series free on Amazon Prime

Post by John E Davies » Sun Mar 29, 2020 11:50 am

What a great series.... I never saw it as a young kid, my family ran the TV and watched Twilight Zone and Liberace.... later on I never really liked Bonanza, High Chaparral, Big Valley, Gunsmoke, etc though I was a fan of Cimarron Strip. This is a grown up show with interesting plots, great characters, cool guns and a whole bunch of young guest stars who went on to play solid roles later on. The Sheriff wears his white stag handled two gun tied-down rig very low, Hollywood style, but he handles them well and even uses a slow, carefully aimed two hand shot sometimes, when he has to take down an Apache at a great distance. The actor Pat Conway was a very accomplished horseman, he grew up on a ranch and by age ten he was roping steers. Some of the riding scenes are excellent.

Season 1 39 episodes Not Available
Season 2 13 episodes
Season 3 39 episodes.

I have to say this, and I hope it doesn’t offend anybody, like many 1950s tv shows, it is often rather startling to see a pretty young woman in old fashioned but tight fitting clothes and a stiff bullet bra. Yikes.....OTH Sheriff Hollister wears spotless wrinkle free PermaPress clothes and everybody is meticulously groomed..... I guess you just have to tune this stuff out. It’s no Lonesome Dove.

Highly recommended, try a couple of episodes!

You can get the entire 3 Season set on DVD for $20 at Amazon.

That was a good show. On tv here not long ago. Hollister was an arrogant dude, enjoyed the rest of the shows. True, women in the old Westerns did seem to prefer those bullet bras.Maybe just a movie thing.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

Have to check it out. Yes the 50's & 60's cowboy outfits were snug, uncomfortable looking and likely made of new fangled polyester. Rawhide show was a little more gritty looking. One of my personal favorite shows was the Lone Ranger but his outfit was not based in any reality....although I am wearing my Lone Ranger mask these days to protect me from the virus....

My wife just checked it for me and seeing that we get Amazon Prime TV with our membership, we can get it. Free as mentioned, Episodes 2 & 3. I'll have to check it out too. There is not hardly a western out there that I do not like.

Thanks for posting it.

Or in tight polyester pants like Linda Evans (AKA Audra Barkley) on The Big Valley.

Oh, hey I liked the look but not quite authentic for the year depiction of the show!
