Surgery on Monday

Post by TMB » Thu Jan 30, 2020 2:04 am

I found out a couple months ago that I have prostate cancer. The surgery to get rid of it is scheduled for Monday February 3rd. It hadn't really hit me until yesterday when I went for the pre-op appointment.

Apparently this cancer is slow growing and not agressive. The Dr told me if I was 10 years older he would suggest leaving it and keeping an eye out for trouble. He said something else would get me before the cancer.

Always great to start out with an edge on this stuff. Your doc sounds positive on good results.
Praying for a quick recovery and return to best of health!

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Relax, the new methods and drugs make surgery a lot simpler. I had an aortic aneurysm repaired last summer and spent only one night in the hospital. Went home the next day and was up and doing my stuff in a couple more days. Very little pain.

It's simply amazing what they can do with most cancers these days. I have two cousins with cancer right now and they are on chemo for life which amounts to taking a pill with little side effect. They expect normal life spans.

Had a rupture fixed twenty years ago and that was not pleasant, but even that is much simpler now. BTW, had a vasectomy done at the same time. Now I am a Golden Gelding guaranteed Community Safe. :D
