I think I'm careful and obsessive. I use my Henry for what it is, a firearm, but try not to get into knock it around situations. Where I'm obsessive, I can't stand finger prints in the shiny brass.

.
Sure it does. When you're recounting the story of each nick and scratch to your grand kids, getting to that one is an 'unsolved mystery'.

Or you just make up some BS story about it. "Yeah, that scratch there. That was the time I was alone in the woods and a grizzly bear jumped out of a tree on me. Wrassled around for a few minutes until I got bored, so I shot him twice. He wouldn't go down, so I rapped him across the snout with the stock. Never saw a bear run so fast!"

I don't own a brass one, Mags, as you know, but if fingerprints is obsessive, then I guess I'm guilty, because that would drive me crazy, too. At least once it's cleaned and ready for storage. The lines get a little blurry, I guess!

And, the grizzly bear story is a great example of going with the flow of nicks and scratches. Even if you don't remember where it might have come from, you have to have faith that is was acquired with integrity (including smacking a bear across the nose!).

I agree with you on that 110 percent mags. I can't stand finger prints on the shiny brass of my BBB 44mag. I use the polishing wedding called never dull and it works beautifully, the only thing I noticed is that it doesnt last long. I've been wondering about that product called brasso but im afraid of the product being too harsh if it came into contact with the other parts of the rifle. Any suggestions?? Thank you mags.

Recommend Renaissance Wax. As far as why Nevr-Dull doesn't last long see this older post: http://henryrifleforums.com/viewtopic.p ... Wax#p63298 Ammonia and/or petroleum content.
