...And just in time to celebrate the holidays. Wow! The end of the Winkie tale came rather quickly. It took my daughter less than a day to decide that Winkie will have a new KC home here with us. Andrea is planning to bring Winkie home this coming weekend.

On Christmas Eve, Winkie is in for a surprise just as our family members are in for a surprise meeting Winkie. Since this is the first Christmas Andrea and I are spending in this new home, she has volunteered to fix our family's traditional holiday dinner. It will be something to see, especially how the great-grandkids go after Winkie. The baby of the family is now walking and for sure will have fun chasing the kitten --- if Winkie is willing to play. :) Definitely expecting some entertainin' moments that evening!

Just might have a ;) Winkie ;) tale or two (and new photos) to share in the new year. ~~PT7

"Announcing" that Winkie came home this morning! :D She really is a very pretty tabby. The first time I held her I heard a pleasant purr, which was a fun surprise. Good welcome moment!

Here the new surroundings are much larger than the shelter she was living at, and a lot of exploring has been going on. Winkie has scouted the kitchen and checked out her dinner table. Quite quickly found her can located in the bathroom. So the basics are covered. ;)

We were told Winkie is a shy cat. After the morning scouting she is comfortably "hiding" (resting) in the master closet behind Andrea's shoes. We'll be keeping watch to see when her next outing starts.

Have a good weekend, Everybody.

Less than a week in her new digs, Winkie has left her closet corner hiding place and is now out doing both day and nocturnal reconnoiters.

First thing after work my daughter gets home and is on the floor playing with Winkie. The perfect relaxation after a day in the dental office! I get to watch and laugh at all the kitten and daughter antics -- very entertaining. Winkie is still wary of me (my height and size) but she's more willing to accept some chin scratching when I can get down to the floor. She also gets to watch me trying to get up with my accompanying groans. I'm sure Winkie is entertained by me as well. ;) ~~PT7

Winkie's favorite. Doing regular "battle" with the rebounding-string kitten toy.

A short ramble on my first week spent with a kitten in the house after probably close to 45 or so years without any feline around. I must admit my surprise at what Winkie did (allowed me to do) at the end of her active day yesterday. I sat down to watch a movie after supper, and she was "wandering" the living room seemingly tired of the toy tussles. So I decided to try and corral her to sit with me. Got her! I was prepared for some claws but zip action there. She settled in my lap, snuggled around to find a warm spot, and spent the next hour quietly dozing. If I didn't get a little stiff-legged and put her down after an hour, she would have been there for the entire movie!

As the winter days get colder, maybe such warming wiggles in the recliner will happen again. ;)

It is Friday the 13th and we have a tabby. Who knows? There might be some tails, err tales, we'll hear today from
Dahliathemeh about activity from her "black cat sanctuary."

All have a good weekend.
