You have my sympathies, too.

I've lost many feline friends over the years, all of them were outdoor cats and most of them died by cars or coyotes. Only one died of an age related disease at 17, and we sadly waited longer than we should have to finally provide him with peace through euthanasia. It was a deeply sad time.

My current feline girlfriend has never known the outdoors and never will. She's a shelter cat that my late wife and I brought home when she was a 3 month old kitten; now she's five years old and delightful. She's the only one we ever had that plays fetch... in fact, demands it almost daily, retrieving that toy over and over again. What a joy.

PT, We too lost our beloved " Sidney " after 15 years. He was a long haired blue point Himalayan, ( indoor cat ).
Had to take off work that day because of the grief.
After two years we took on ( Bodhi ), another large, long hair indoor " Rag Doll ". We love him to death.
Funny thing is; he fetches too. He loves foil balls! They are family.....
