Started reading my Gene Hill books again. I don't know how many times over the years I've read these but they never get old to me. They remind me of the lost time of my childhood. If you're not familiar with his writings I strongly recommend them.

Yes. I think I have all his books, not sure, I'm reviewing his "A Hunter's Fireside Book" at the moment and will follow with his "Tears and Laughter" which is a book about his dogs past.

I see your book ' A treasury of Outdoor Life' and have the same one!
I have had it since I was a teen and it has been part of the inspiration of my lifetime in the outdoors.
It is an excellent historical reference to the outdoors from the late 1800's through the 60's as all the stories are taken from Outdoor Life magazines throughout this time period.
Another very good book I would recommend for those interested in this genre is this one.
It is a excellent compilation of writings, stories, anecdotes, pictures and artwork from the period of 1776 to 1976.

Have you read any of Dick Proenneke's journals? I haven't read them but have seen most of the videos. I don't believe they're all available on youtube, have seen them several times on PBS. He was a pretty amazing man.
