You know it was a hot day when....
I go to hook my utility trailer up this evening and notice one of the bed planks has popped both 1/4-20 screws at the end and bowed up 6 inches.
Haven't fiqured out how the end got out from under the channel edge as it would not clear it to go back down!
Got it fixed though so I can load up the Kubota tomorrow.

Yeah, heat index over 100 today. Lots of humidity too. Supposed to be a cold front coming in next week. All the humidity is condensing in my shop and saturating the legs of my new work benches. Never seen that happen before.

We should be sitting in the low 90s for a bunch of this month, but have barely cracked the 70s so far, and next weeks highs are looking like 72* maximum. Not your typical July, but since I work outside, I’m sort of happy about that. I’m farmore productive at 70’ than I am at 90*. We also don’t get the humidity you guys do down south.

Re: You know it was a hot day when....
As is happening over +80% of the U.S., dangerously hot with a high humidity index here in KC.
Sure was a sad report yesterday that former Giants offensive lineman, Mitch Petrus, died from heat stroke after working outside and in his garage most of the day yesterday. He was only 32 years old. Sure pray that there are very few further fatalities.
My daughter told me about a happening with a lady she works with. Thursday a group went out for lunch, and it was sizzling hot in KS. They all got into an SUV, and my daughter's friend sitting in the back seat said she wasn't getting enough of the A/C circulation. For whatever the reason, the driver didn't respond to the request....maybe didn't hear it. Anyway, when they got back to the office, my daughter noticed her friend didn't look well at all, so asked her how she felt. The lady said no, I'm not okay. She went home, almost had to go to the ER, but ended up spending the rest of the day resting in bed. Kind of a serious and scary happening due to the excessive heat.
Also a good reminder about little children and peoples' pets left in cars....
Be safe, Everyone.
