Blood pressure limits....

Post by fortyshooter » Mon Jul 15, 2019 6:58 pm

Went to the doc today to get my throat looked at as it has been causing me some pain and coughs lately...bothers me a lot at night.
She went thru the normal checks including blood pressure and determined I had a sinus issue causing drainage down my throat and
prescribed "Z-pac" meds to knock it out.
Before she left the room I ask her what my BP was and she replied 116/66 with a smile.
I thought that was great for a 65 yr. old on no medications and really not trying to be on a low sodium diet.
I just eat small to average portions of whatever but do limit things like hog dogs to maybe once a month.
Of course with processed foods you have to read those ingredient/serving levels.

Anyway it was great to hear that BP number!

Those really are great numbers. I've had hypertension all my life. Just a genetic thing. I take meds and I watch my salt and keep those numbers down in the normal range, now.

Hypertension runs in my family and I am on Xarelto 10mg tabs once a day. Also, I cut out alcohol which can really raise you BP.

For sure, high good pressure is something that should not be ignored. do whatever it takes to get it under control.

A couple of years ago I went to my Doctor for a shoulder that was paining me pretty badly-she took my BP and sent me to our local ER-with if I remember right 240/180 said I was at stroke level-needless to say I had to go back for my shoulder later

The last time I went to the Dr he was giving me all kinds of s%#t about how I was over weight and out of shape as he was reading my chart. Then he turned and looked at me and told me he was sorry. I had the blood pressure of a teenager. It was 120/60. Told me to keep doing whatever it was I was doing.

Spent my whole day today at the doctor and the hospital. Reasons, won't go in to right now. Have BP under control with meds though. Last check was 118/79. Doesn't get much better than that at 64.
