Henry "movie moments"

Post by RanchRoper » Tue Mar 22, 2016 2:37 pm

Henry's pop up in movies and TV shows. Any favorites?
Personally, you can't beat Lonesome Dove's Capt McRae firing a long shot and hitting the guy dancing like a chicken...also see Henry's from time to time in the Rawhide box set I'm working my way through.

Used in the movie Silverado from 1985. Danny Glover's character says, "did you ever see what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of someone who knows how to use it?"

The sheriff mentions "anyone with a Henry Rifle" in the movie Unforgiven.

I think he was talking to the reporter when he said it.

The legend of Zorro. The bad guy uses a Henry. The scene where he is introduced he rides in showing it off and says. "If the Good Lord didn't have lightning he'd use a Henry Repeater."

I like the Lonesome Dove movie, but Tom Sellick does a nice job in Crossfire Trail too.

Selleck is picky about period correct gear and firearms in his westerns. It's all usually spot on. Part of his contract is he keeps all the custom stuff. I read he has an unreal collection. His period saddles were made by Croft Saddlery in SD. Jerry Croft passed away a couple of years ago. Selleck has a Henry in Last Stand at Saber River.

It might have been Last Stand At Saber River? Maybe both?
Might be a good excuse to watch them again?
