Re: Fiction or non-fiction
Hard science Sci-fi has been a favorite since 3rd grade. Space at, Danny Dunn.
Some of the very adult content by age 14 reading Heinlein.
Still have a couple hundred paper backs from H of course, Asimov, Clarke, Niven, so many others.
My mom was a reader an I had access to all the Reader's Digest condensed books .

Mostly Sci Fi and fantasy. I still remember my first Sci Fi book " Alas, Babylon " by Pat Frank. I grew up with the pulp monthly that came with authors like Clarke, Azmov, Heinlin, all hard science fiction. Then in college read The Hobbit and that got me into Fantasy. Strickley a library guy.

I like to read quite a bit. I'm a big fan of Stephen King novels, at this point I've read nearly all of them. Also, one of my favorites are Ian Flemings James Bond novels from the 50's. I read non fiction here and there but i need a book with some excitement to keep me engaged.

Just got my hands on the latest CJ Box book "Wolf Pack". Give me something to keep my mind off waiting for my Long Ranger to be repaired and returned.

Re: Fiction or non-fiction
Miss T and I had errands to run in the truck yesterday and she had to go though she was still feeling poorly. A big loop of driving, six hours or so, and poorly doesn't lead to stimulating convo. I got to thinking about books I had been given to read as a child, two series stand out.
The first an elementary school librarian gave me.. "Bristle Face" by Zachery Ball.. She had placed a bookmark in that book. "Mr. Ball writes series," she said tapping the bookmark, " as much as you read, I think you will like the way the stories go on and on. There are several about this boy. Then another Character, Joe Panther and his Friend Tiger Tail. They are seminoles and get into a number of adventures. "
I read them all, then a couple years later, read them all again. I think they are out of print these days, which is sad, great books, especially for young boys.
My Grandmother gave me "All Creatures Great and Small," by James Herriot the Yorkshire vet. There were six or eight in that series and I read and reread them as well. Follows his adventures from his twenties just out of college... To retirement.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
