while sitting here watching Joe Kidd on the Western Channel for the ump'th time, I realized that when it comes to hand guns, Clint shoots right handed .. :) .. when firing a long range rifle of that era, he shoots left handed .. :? .. somehow I find that to be fascinating .. :D

Interesting indeed...maybe he is truly ambidextrous?

Some interesting guns in that movie, for sure.

Film edit. Producers thought it looked better that way so they flipped the image horizontally.

A good friend of mine shoots exactly this way - right hand with pistol and lefty with rifle.

I am the same way. I shoot rifles left handed per my left eyed dominance. I have shoot my pistols and revolvers cross-eyed due to being forced into the myth everybody is right handed. I also kick football lt footed and I shoot bows lt handed. I can't throw lt handed. I guess I'm just weird.
Just shoot straight no matter what handed you are.

I think there are more cross-eyed dominant people in the shooting community than some folks think. I'm one of them. I am left eye dominant, but right handed. Fortunately, I never got pushed into shooting right or left handed and just did what came, naturally to me. I shoot a rifle right-handed and am very comfortable using my right eye, my non-dominant eye. For pistol shooting, I can switch back and forth between using my right and my left eye. Even weirder, when I first started shooting a bow, I never even knew I was shooting a bow left-handed until someone else pointed it out to me. Shooting a bow right-handed just felt awkward and uncomfortable. Still does. In short, I've always been kind of a hodgepodge of doing things right and left handed.

Sure wish I had that talent. As the years continue to pass, I may HAVE to adjust.
