My Longhorns slept through their first game against Maryland but woke up to play USC this past weekend with an admirable second half. Here’s hoping....

It's interesting to sit here between the KU Jayhawks, who just beat Rutgers 55 to something and the MU Tigers, with Drew Lock throwing for 4 touchdowns or so every game so far. Not exactly two college football powerhouses, but it's WAY more interesting this year than in recent years past.

I love watching small college football when it is on or when some teams are playing locally' I think it is because I played for a small state college that had maybe 2000 students. I was a whopping 153 lbs linebacker/safety. Our defensive line average about 190. Some of the guys had only played 4, 6, or 8 man football in HS. ( This was South Dakota. Not a lot of people in the state back then) But, by god, we were playing! Good memories.
