I also watched and like the series,
was sad when it ended.

Anyone ever watch Justified?
I thought it was a pretty good series also.

I hope that the dvd or blue ray final season is released soon so that we can buy it at Walmart or Target. Our Sony player machine plays dvds and blue ray copies.

My husband and I enjoy the series and even though we have donated many movies and series to our local library - this is a keeper series for us.

We do not have cable, dish, Netflix, etc.

Bugs wrote:Yup the wife and I enjoyed watching the series. Only downside was that it ended. Currently watching "Death In Paradise". It's a British detective series that takes place on Saint-Marie Island. Every week someone gets murdered on that Island and the detective and his police force of 3 solve the murder.
I totally enjoyed Longmire and was thrilled that Netflix completed it, wrapping up every loose string in the final episode. It is an outstanding series.

Because of your recommendation, Bugs, I've also been watching Death in Paradise. Thanks for the tip. I'm well into the second season now, and enjoy the slow development of the characters and their relationships, especially between Richard and Camille. Each episode has a formula that doesn't vary and includes bits of humor, simple plot twists, and an ending that brings all of the suspects into the same room for Richard to reveal who is guilty. Fun.

Having read the Longmire books, I initially had problems watching the TV series. The book series and the TV series are in different universes. Once I got past the differences I ended up liking the TV series too.

The railroad western 'Hell On Wheels' is really good too. https://www.netflix.com/title/7021088

For me books are usually better too. Especially when the TV series does a poor job of trying to tell the book story. In Longmire TV, no attempt was made to go by the books, so Longmire TV turned out ok.

'Death in Paradise' is that the British series that plays cowboy western backdrop music?

If anyone has a liking for dry British humor, 'Doc Martin' series you might like.

As a big Western fan, I decided to give Longmire a try, especially after all the talk going on about it. This was about a year or two ago. I watched about 25 minutes of the first one, or one of the first ones, lost interest and changed the channel. I need to give it another try, if I can find it again. But just wondering, did everyone else out there like it right away? Like I didn't, lol.
