Reading Much Lately?
What are y'all reading these days? Health issues have kept me static quite a bit the past few months, and I can't watch but so much tv... I have a movie collection, have tied a thousand flies... but mostly, I have been reading.
I have worked my way thru the John Sandford twenty eight book "Prey" series, and am nearly thru his ten (number eleven comes out mid Oct) book spinoff "Virgil Flowers" series. Next will be the four books in the related "Kidd" series.
After that, who knows... A few books from King..I have some favorites.
Re-read my two favorite WEB Griffin series?
I could jump back into stephen hunter and his Bob Lee Swagger books.
Dig back into the past for Bolitho... read that series?
I have thought about starting the Jack Reacher series, heard it's good.
So... what are you guys reading?

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Actually, 2001 by Clarke is an excellent read. I saw the movie when it first came out and didn't understand it, until I read the book later that year. Of course, I was 14 at the time. Perhaps it would make more sense to me, without having read the book, today. Then again......

There is, I think, humor here which does not translate well from English to sanity. - Sanya

I read mostly Fantasy and Science Fiction. I am just about done with the IVORY trilogy by Doris Egan, a new author for me. I usually read every night until 12:00 or so. Thinking about rereading THE HOBBIT and THE LORD OF THE RINGS, for I think , the third time. I always find something new or something I forgot in those books. The movies are fine but a lot is left out or added that are not in the books. As the saying goes " so many books, so little time"

Re: Reading Much Lately?
Marine & Everyone,
I can't even start to list my recent reads, or the various genres I enjoy. At the moment, I don't even know how many books I'm reading at the same time....always close to 1/2 dozen or so. I really like "traveling" everywhere, to different times, and so on. What I can say is that I read everyday and every evening. Part of daily living, and hope I never quit this life-long rich and fun activity.
Here is an easy way to "show" what I read. For a couple of years, my daughter gave my wife a Christmas gift of a brightly-colored, bouncy and joy-filled calendar by Mary Engelbreit. Often my wife would ask me to scan a calendar page and send it to her sisters, or brother, or one of our daughters in the hopes they would smile like she smiled when she looked at/read them.
Here is one I kept for myself. It is prominently displayed on one of my library shelves amongst the hundreds of books I own. I think it tells the story better than any words I could write.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.
