Looks like it will be a couple of years before DJR/Penske supercar driver Scott McLaughlin makes a appearance in Nascar.
He resigned last week for a undisclosed period but thought to be only one year.
Mclaughlin has always said he isnt interested in winning multiple Aus championships and would love a shot at Nascar. Penske have said he is a prime candidate but would have to work his way up like Ambrose did. He has a American fiancee who would no doubt be keen to return home. Still only 26 so has a bit of time, with a race win points lead in the championship will no doubt make a 100% attack at the Bathurst 1000 this year which is the only thing not achieved in his supercar career.
I really hope he makes the switch in 2021, honestly think he would be at least as good as Ambrose on road courses and better on ovals.
