Our local aussie V8 supercars kicked of last weekend, clean sweep for the DJR/Penske mustangs topping every practice session taking both poles and race wins. Im torn on the looks of it, the body having to be massaged in just about every direction to fit over the control chassis is out of proportion compared to the road car.

This will probably interested a few of you, a speed comparison between a road mustang nascar mustang and supercars mustang last weekend.
Dick Johnson behind the wheel of the supercar he is the DJR in team DJR/Penske 73 now but 5 time champ and did a bit of nascar racing in the 80's, Marcus Ambross behind the wheel of the nascar and current aussie champ McLaughlin in the road car.

Kyle Busch wins it.

Swept the week-end.

That's 199 now for all 3 Series.

Not bad for a guy that's only 33.

UPDATE :

now 17 years old, she's doing well and making progress .... last night in a last lap pass he plowed her way to a win at Vegas on dirt .... in this link ===> https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2019/ ... egas-dirt/ , that pass can be seen .... she's in the 19 car .... one common criticism of Danica was she wasn't aggressive enough .... Hailie doesn't seem to have that issue .... that might be expected coming from dirt tracks and not from Indy cars
another update on Hailie Deegan .... Kevin Harvick is one of her fans ===> https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2019/ ... s-to-race/

In his post race interview he compared himself to this three year old son. Right on, but that's what make him who he is. I have followed him for many years. Back in the day they said he was Mister 110% that always wrecked. I figured that he would eventually figure out how not to wreck. He finally has. He has great talent.

Another point in time that I wonder again.

How much does Hendrick regret letting him go?

As much as he strives to hire performers, in a certain way like no one else does, he once had him.

last year the reports were the Chevy teams were disadvantaged by having to figure out their new Camaros while the other brands were running established vehicles .... this year the other teams have new vehicles and hit the ground running .... makes me wonder :?:

Well he just had to have "junior"
Jr. only won 17 races for Hendrick. Only 26 in his career.
In the same time period Kyle won 47 +1 this year.
As of right now in that series alone he has 52.
Only driver to win all the series races in a weekend at Bristol, and he did it Twice.

Hope he can get another Championship this year.

Hendrick could have booted Casey Mears instead, which he ended up doing the year after anyway.

But Kyle was hard to deal with back then.

That is one reason why I'm a KB fan today.

He is probably the most improved, attitude wise, more than anyone in the garage, besides being a great driver.

And I credit his wife for that, but Kyle himself deserves credit as well.
