My neighbor didn't see it happen but had a cat that possibly escaped from being carried off by an eagle or more likely a great horned owl. It was acting pretty sore and they found puncture wounds on both sides of it's back.

I'm reminded of a probably true story from quite few years ago, when some folks' teacup poodle either fell off, or jumped off, a dock on Bone Lake, in NW Wisconsin. Bone Lake has a significant Muskie population, and, you guessed it, the dog was taken by a Muskie. One of the radio stations in the Twin Cites had a guy who was an avid fisherman, who started a riff on a new Muskie lure, the "Rapoodla".

Here in Florida, I have heard of people finding large bass and other fish in their pools that were dropped, but this is on a whole other level........
