People still water ski on our lake at camp. The boldest thing I've seen are the hydrofoil skiers.

Watch a video of hard core rope free climbers. Saw one and the guy was explaining how he did it, said he would look closely at where both feet and and hands would land and then make the leap. Pretty stupid as most climbers have the rope there if they do slip up but the real hardcore guys need the adrenaline rush of knowing they will die if they make a mistake.
