The Bristol Stomp is today. I’ll be on the road and can’t watch it so I’m hoping it will be on the radio.

Sirius XM channel 90, or maybe a Fox station. Fox is covering it.

just from looking at the stands, while there are a bunch of folks there, there sure is a very large number of empty seats

I noticed that. It looked like a little over half.

I only watched some of the race, but it looks like the Kyle Busch Pit Crew goofed again.

Xfinity practice and qualifying is done at COTA, SVG topped practice but had to settle for second in qualifying with Kyle Larson taking pole, Ty Gibbs in 3rd, Chandler Smith 4th ahead of AJ Almendinger, Hallie Deegan qualified 35th.
Really cant see the winner coming from outside the top 5 unless they all crash, even AJ in 5th is over a second off Larson's pole time, by the time you get to 15th it is 2 seconds and the middle of the top 20 back over 4 seconds a lap slower.

Cup practice and qualifying Sat Morning followed by truck and Xfinity races.

I just learned that Shane van Gisbergen (SVG) is scheduled for his first double-duty weekend at Circuit of The Americas as he races in both Xfinity and Cup events ... he'll face a much higher level of talent in the Cup race .... that said, with his proven ability, he should do well

I can't help but wonder what's up with Hailie Deegan .... not a single YouTube video in the last two weeks .... that is very unusual

SVG qualified 12th for the cup race William Byron on pole.
SVG failed to advance to the final 10 in qualifying posting the same time as Corey Lajoy who went through. He caught some traffic towards the end of his lap that probably cost him some time. Was about the only driver to post a faster time on a second run in keeping with what he has done so far this season where he continues to learn improve and get quicker every lap he turns.
Team mate AJ will start from 14th, I thought SVG might have qualified better but when you out qualify your team mate in both series in the same equipment and they are a 3 time cup winner and winningest road course racer in Xfinity history guess it is still a good day.
If he has an incident free race I expect another top 10 finish in the cup race and we should get to see him rubbing and racing the top cup drivers.
