at Talladega just now the National Anthem was played by a military band .... NO personalizing or messing around, they played it as written .. :D .. the weather down there looks good, sure hope it cooperates for the entire race .... a 4 Star General just gave the command to start their engines, now that's impressive ....

Halfway through the first stage, some very different strategies on display, some driver like Chastain wanted to get from the back of the pack to the front as quick as they could, others like Blaney happy to drop to the back of the pack and just roll around. SVG has also gone to the back, I think by design, reading a interview with him before the race start and he was saying he qualified to well. Wanted to roll around at the back of the pack early in the race learn the car, work on a few things and would have preferred to start further back. Early in yesterdays xfinity race he was working on dragging the brakes to get a run on cars and other things he has never needed to learn road racing.

A win for Tyler Reddick after the big one happened as they raced to the line, first two stages were entirely green flag running apart from the stage cautions.
Was hugely impressed by SVG in what was his cup series debut on an oval. After hanging around the back for most of the first stage he started racing.
Looked totally at home in the draft and being pushed, actually lead a few laps but being a rookie found it hard to get anyone to work with him when at the front. Looked like a top 10 was on the cards and he might even be in contention for a race win with 2 to go. With 4 to go they were running 2 wide on the bottom and middle a few cars towards the back had tried to get a top line going without success, SVG was running around 14th and 7th car in the middle lane when he decided to try and get the top lane going. They had a big run going with 2 to go and he was around 8th when Kyle Busch jumped up to the top which slowed them a little but then Ty Gibbs jumped up totally stalled the top lane and they went to the back of the pack.
Would have been easy for SVG to play it safe stay in line and finish around the back of the top 10 but even in his first oval race he took the gamble of chasing the slightest chance of victory.
One of the reasons he has been an exciting driver to watch through his career, has never been one to play it safe and take the points if there is a chance of a win or even and overtake to improve his position by one spot he goes for it regardless.

SVG has been confirmed as eligible for the All Star race among the initial 18 driver list, yet to be confirmed that he will start the race with track house.

P18 for SVG, P31 for Deegan in the Xfinity race after qualifying 31st and 29th respectively.
Deegan was involved in a 4th lap incident and finished 8 laps down, SVG on the lead lap and with an unmarked car. He just seems to be able to avoid incidents, despite the carnage at Talladega last week he finished the Xfinity and Cup races without a scratch on either car.

"Deegan was involved in a 4th lap incident and finished 8 laps down" ====> that sums up much of her season

I usually watch Eric Estepp here and there, but this guy is pretty interesting. I know what Harvick means, lol. Sometimes I feel like punching Bowyer myself. He also found out what I found out on Hallie Deegan. And I used to brag about Fox. They seem to be slipping in the last few years and totally missed the Deegan wreck. He was also right on the Keslowski comment, weird. Last was Kyle Busch. He is not afraid to speak his mind. He can make you laugh at times. There are other comments, but these were the interesting ones to me:

Plenty of nascasr/supercar news this week, SVG wont be racing the all star race neither Trackhouse or Kaulig have a car for him.
Brodie Kosteki wont be making any starts with RCR this year, returned to Erabus racing in the supercars after sitting out the first 2 rounds and dont know how that has effected things but Peter Adderton who backed the RCR car in his start last year wasnt happy with the way the whole drama unfolded.
Cam Waters will make his 2nd truck start this weekend and in breaking news the same source that broke the story SVG was moving to Nascar and that Waters would be making truck starts has said that current championship leader Will Brown will race at Sonoma in A RCR car with Boost sponsorship from Adderton. Brown was Kosteki's team mate last year at Erubus before Redbull enticed him across to replace SVG this year with his move to Nascar.

It really is starting to look like a bit of a supercars invasion but plenty of drivers to go around. About 30 full time supercars drivers and then you can throw in another 30 who will co drive in the main series at the 3 enduro events where it is mandatory to use at least 2 driver per car, A bit like Nascar supercars also has 2nd and 3rd tier series where older spec cars run and up coming drivers get a chance to learn develop and audition for a set in the main game.

Brown has some links with RCR having raced with them last year IN WRL and also worked with their cup drivers in an ex supercar that RCR like a few teams use to get around testing restrictions with the nextgen car.
