80s today, a bit of respite. Sister coming over to work in garden and I have to mow. Got 1/2" of rain yesterday so it cooled off a bit last night.
State is re-paving the road past my house finally but it makes it difficult to get to town as the options double the milage. Still, it will be nice not dodging all the potholes so a little patience is doable.
Have a good day.

62° and heading to 80° on the mountain. We had one heck of a downpour last night. My steep gravel driveway is probably a mess.
1st cup of dark roast down. No plans except getting on the radio later, and perhaps loading up some .223 rounds. I bought a new steel target yesterday, but didn't get a chance to shoot at it. Cheers

My son and DIL are considering a break up. Terrible ramifications on my two grandaughters. Can only intervene so much. Breaks my heart. Don't know what to do.
It's in God's hands Mark. My son abandoned his wife and two small children ten years ago.
He's now living somewhere in the Midwest I guess. A few years ago I chastised him and he cut
communications with us. We do however help support his children and ex wife. She has never
remarried and has raised the children on her own. They are invited to all family functions and
often stay over night. We have taken the children on motor home vacations with us.

I guess my best advice is not to burn any bridges if you can help it.

Sorry, forgot the intent of the thread for a moment.
Cooled off overnight with some light rain this AM, but not enough yet.
Coffee in VFW cup and of course, custard.

Yes!! , this Covid thing has had ripple effects on a lot of things, to say the least. My son and DIL are considering a break up. Terrible ramifications on my two grandaughters. Can only intervene so much. Breaks my heart. Don't know what to do.
My own problems seem miniscule as compared to this!
I sure hope for some improvement SOON!!
Sorry to hear this.

Beautiful morning, sunny and 72, a high of 79 so it looks like a day at the range. Everybody have a great day!

91 here, on the way up, sunny, lite wind. My new Henry cap & coffee mug arrived this am. Looks good. Coffee will probably taste better too, LOL.

Coffee in MACV cup and custard. Getting to hate custard. Oh well.
Storm blew through last night and this morning it's 66 with bright sunshine.
Looks like a nice day coming up.
We have a new alarm system and I was working with it last night and armed it.
Then the wife opened a door and set it off. I shut it off but said they're going to
call. Of course the wife said they wouldn't. They did but she was trying to shove
the landline phone into my hand while I was trying to get to the IPhone which was
actually ringing. By the time I got to it, they had hung up. I sent a text but I guess
that doesn't work. I said they'll send the Sheriff. She disagreed because we'd shut
the alarm off.

A little later I heard a noise and looking out the window two deputies were out front
looking in. I invited them in and they were very polite and professional. Once they
verified who I was we had a nice conversation and I told them how much we appreciate
what they do. They said they had left their squad out on the highway and walked in not
knowing it was a half mile through the woods, in the rain, with hordes of mosquitoes.
I offered to give them a ride back but they laughed and declined. Last I saw of them
they were slapping mosquitoes and laughing as they walked away.
