Fall is here in the mountains. I noticed the grass is growing slow, and a few brown spots. Leaves have been falling for over a month. Some trees are starting to turn color. Cool mornings, and afternoons. I do like the fall and spring time up here. I won't see another Winter here though. Yep, we made an offer on a place near Greenville TN, and it won't be as cold in the winter, but hotter in the summer. I will miss the mountain life, but truth be told, I just can't appreciate the steepness of it. It's hard on these old knees. New place is flat. 3 acres of grass to mow, but it's on level ground. I'm going to need a faster mower. Enjoy this weather Grunt.

I’m on my third cup of coffee and it’s raining.

Load on Sunday and shoot all month. I can’t believe how many bb’s this holds. Empty it’s a feather weight and loaded it’s like a tank.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Another nice day. Sixties heading for the eighties today.
I am searching my woods for black walnuts and hickory nuts. The walnuts I can find but the hickory nuts are prized by the squirrels, so mostly I,m finding shucks.
I think the little thieves are taking them while still in the trees. Hard to compete.
Ever had a black walnut chocolate cake? :D

Plenty of black walnuts in my backyard as my neighbor has a huge tree that drops them in my yard. Wish I had a hickory tree since I could trim a limb off now and then for chipping up for my smoker!
Rain all day today but got some work done on my never ending lean to shed project down at the range yesterday.

47 this morning with forecasted temps to drop into the upper 30’s in a few days......in the words of the Stark family from Game of Thrones.....

Winter’s Coming...... :D

Wednesday night’s rain allowed me to finally do some mowing in a treed area next to my house that I have parked out. While mowing under the Ponderosa pines I was getting rained on by the falling needles. I have been watching them turn brown and the 30 mph winds yesterday started the annual fall migration of needles from the trees to the ground. It’s only getting started, happy I don’t have any deciduous trees.
