Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
It's 70 and very humid right now at about 4:15 am. The high just supposed to hit 80 with clouds and a good chance of rain on and off for most of the day. Really has turned around for us on the moisture after a long , hot summer. Have to go a ways off today to look at a set of cows and calves to sell for the coming week. We do a lot of on farm appraisals and then coordinate pickup and hauling for the stockyards. Had some friends who just came back from vacation in Colombia South America. The lady was raised there. They brought us back some real Colombian roasted coffee beans. Thinking about grinding some up and brewing this morning. Good day to all.

That Columbian coffee sure sounds good Ozarkridgerunner.
It's 70, going to 75. It should rain today. The tomatoes are starting to ripen. So far just small, yellow ones.
Coffee in the Smith and Wesson mug.
Enjoy your day.

Dave , a report on the fresh ground coffee. Rich but smooth and mild ! It was very good. Beats my usual Folgers.daytime dave wrote:That Columbian coffee sure sounds good Ozarkridgerunner.

70 degrees and light rain now. August is shaping up to be nice for us. High only to be 78 ! Usually closer to 100. Grinding more fresh coffee beans right now. Pretty good stuff.

Northland, MO forecast is about identical to your southern MO forecast, Ozark.
Temps to only be in the 70s today, and I just checked at 5:30am and it's been raining. The hourly forecast shows almost 100% rain chances (thunderstorms) throughout the entire day!! We're not yet "turning green," and the drought aspects continue. But if the rain gauge fills up at all today, it might be a turning point here...finally! Shall see.

Great PT7. We hope it continues for all of us. You mentioned the lack of a green up yet. Our warm season grasses are but cool season grasse like fescue are still brown and dormant. We may have lost some due to the drought. Time will tell if we will have to reseed our pastures and hay meadows. Have a good day.

Well this is a unique thread! I accidentally clicked on it on the iPad and since I’m here, I’ll add in my $.02 worth...
5:55 am and it’s 60* and totally gray outside. Not cloud, but smoke! (Pics below, thankfully not close to my home, but causing the smoke) There are lots of big fires burning in the woods around here. (I live right on the Canadian/US border and can see the Pacific Ocean about 1/4 mile away). Supposed to hit around 73* today. It’s been sunny and in the upper 80s and 90s for most of the past 2 months. We had one day of light rain this past weekend, but like you guys down south, my tractor sits quiet as everything is brown and dormant.
I’ve got a 50/50 mix of Black Crow Espresso and a New Guinea arabica in the cup. A little Tom Petty playing in the background to enjoy a cup and it’s almost time to feed the animals.

I love BC. Worked there a few years ago and have fond memories of it...hope it doesn't burn up. Great photos.
Drinking Chock Full O Nuts this am watching the birds behind my condo as they work the waters edge. The baby deer are emerging.

Re: Our mornin Coffee and Weather
Just finished my Henry mug filled with soothing double mocha.
It was mostly cloudy and cooler yesterday, and we ended up with over 1/2" inch rain gauge water! Every drop was most welcome. A friend up north (actually living in a more drought-plagued area) emailed me last night and they got over 2" of rain. Lots of happy campers at the moment north of KC metropolitan. Again, hoping for more to come, as our forecast shows up to 80% chance of thunderstorms today.

Photos are copied from news feeds. I saw one fire on Thursday with lots of flames but since I was driving at 65 mph with boat behind me I didn’t take any pics.
Our forecast is not good for fires:
