At last, a steady rain happening this morning in the Northland!! We are extremely dry in this part of KCMO, and these glistening drops of water falling are a beautiful sight. Been going on for over an hour now, and I have almost 2/10" in the rain gauge.

I brought over a comment NCG made in my last outdoor range report when I mentioned how hot and dry it is here. Her description of her area in WI mirrors our MO region:
North Country Gal wrote:We've been having July weather in May, too. Even worse, our May weather did a complete reversal of what we had in April. We've had no significant rain, at all. Our forests are tinder dry. Not good.
We're predicted at 60-70% rain chances through this evening, with temps in upper 60s to low 70s. What a pleasant relief! :) This cooler, damp weather also makes for my upcoming pleasant afternoon nap!

Having my second Henry mug of double mocha while watching the sparrows dodge the raindrops!

Rained here all day yesterday. Second weekend in a row not being able to get out and keep up with the grass mowing. Today no rain but not very warm. Maybe some of our rain will help you out PT.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Gorgeous morning. Just finished cleaning my 1860. Sat out on the deck and cleaned and oiled inside and out. I have a can of Rem oil that quit spraying but it just fizzles a few little drops still. It is perfect for running a misty line up one side of the rifle and down the other, then wiping it down. Tea in Henry mug.

Just checked my rain gauge this morning after the rainy Sunday. Although it hasn't broken the extreme dry conditions here, it's a nice start. The gauge showed 1/2" water showered down, which also means there was probably a little more since the gauge doesn't prove totally accurate. Temps dropped to a cooler (for me) and more pleasant 64* this morning.

Going to glance toward the cloudy sky throughout today, and hope for some more!

Right now it's 77° and 87% humidity. It'll only get worse as the day goes on. Supposed to only get to 90° today but next week we'll be in the mid to upper 90's all week.
