What type of leather do we use?

All of our leather comes from Hermann Oak Leather in St. Louis, MO. They are known to provide the only the absolute best leather available on the market. Our leather is shipped to our shop at least once a month where we inspect every hide to ensure the highest quality leather will be used on each piece me hand craft. Our cowhide holsters use vegetable tanned leather. The benefit of this technique is that it provides a leather that will not cause your weapon to rust or corrode the way chrome tanned leather can do when the gun is left in it for extended periods of time. I just ordered a pancake holster for my Tisas 1911 last week. Should be here in a few weeks. If you order something it will usually take up to 6 weeks or so, since everything they make is hand made to perfection, and the wait list is pretty long.

Herman Oak and Wickett & Craig is the only tannerys left in the U.S. A lot of American hides are shipped south of the border to be tanned and then back to us.
