Sunset of gasoline powered vehicles ?

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Apr 06, 2021 9:16 am

Have been hearing on the news that GM and Ford planning building electric vehicles only by 2035...that's only 14 yrs. away!
Lot's of supporting industry will be going away too like all parts related to gasoline powered cars/trucks. I suspect nascar will be switching over before that to push the agenda along too....if they are still around.
I wonder if wise money would start buying up current new cars within next 5 yrs. and store them away for when some folks will be searching for a new but old gas powered vehicle?
Just like the Bit Coin when it came about 10-12 yrs. ago to be bought for pennies and now one is worth 50,000 bucks!

Todays 30 somethings like their brawny new trucks with high performance gas powered engines and when they are 45-50 will be missing that action of that 400 HP awesome sound of power!

Time will tell!

And yet, they still have to plug 'em in to charge them. Amazing the way some think. Some people must think that electricity just bubbles out of the ground like water or something. Man!

Neither will I, most likely. I can already see the old guy smiling at me, and all I can do is smile back. :)

Right. Many say our electrical grid is in fragile shape as it is.

I say they're dreaming. This morning's news said less than 1% of the cars out there now are electric. In 14 years I would say that they will be lucky to have 10%.

Might be back to hay burners in 14 years, and then people would be complaining about manure.

Just watch out for Federal and State "Carbon Tax" added on to your vehicle registration and gas tax! Unless the auto manufactuers are getting gov't funding for it they wouldn't not be investing all the money in planning to convert the production.

So far, you can't carry a spare can of electricity for when you run out.
Somebody is daydreaming.
