I don't see how that is happening when especially handguns still seem to be in such short supply. The 2 LGS's I frequent still have pretty bare showcases. I guess they're selling out as soon as they get them in.

I'm about to give up on ever getting a Langdon Compact Carry, although he did get some full size PX4's recently which also come from Italy. I guess BerettaUSA is busy cranking out their new 92x's and their APX's.

It could be even worse than that: some manufacturers could be skipping small LGS and shipping only to their top clients.

Ammo too. I was at Wal-Mart again today.

All they had was 1 box of the very unpopular 338.

Never seen it that bare ever.

Guns case was half empty.

They could have sold 4 times that, if they were available.

I rarely ever buy a rifle, but when I do, it's a Henry.

No short supply of firearms here. Was in my lgs Fri, and he had 3 Deagles - 2 .44's, and a .50AE - on display, along with full cases of all the usual semi's and revolvers. Long guns were plentiful, including AR &AK platforms, a couple of Barrett's, and racks full of shotguns and 'hunting' rifles. Now the ammo guys need to catch up. :)

The number of guns sold is probably closer to 7 million because I know many people who purchased 3 and even 4 long guns with just one beck round check.

GENERALLY SPEAKING, gun manufacturers don’t ship directly to our LGS but to a distributor who then ships to the LGS. I’m speaking of the large manufacturers such as Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Remington etc. I believe Henry will sell directly to their Blue dealers but all others buy through distributors. Back in the day when I worked for a gun distributor this was the case for all gun manufacturers except for Browning and Weatherby who both sold dealer (LGS) direct. I have to admit I’m not current with today’s distribution method.

In my area, southern New Jersey the cupboards are bare at the lgs. The owner told me just have it shipped to them. Not very much on the shelves but shipping boxes stacked high behind counters.
