Went to Captain D's today, actually got to dine in, for once. Had 2 pcs catfish. slaw & fries, hushpuppies, diet Pepsi. Pretty darn good.
Sure beats going thru the drive thru, eating in the truck, running the heat or AC.

There is this newer restaurant in town called "The Rebel Chef". We ate lunch there when the were just opened and didn't like it.
I figured with Covid they'd close down pretty quick. They didn't, so we gave them another try. We were pleasantly surprised.
The food is much better.
We had lunch there yesterday. I had a dipped pulled pork sandwich on a hard roll. It had onions, cheese, jalapenos, and a huge
portion of really tender pulled pork. It had been dipped in the pork gravy so that while it wasn't mushy, it was juicy.
Served up with hand cut fries.
Wow was that ever good! :D
Going back there again one of these days.

Had lunch at a trucks stop that has an excellent BBQ place. Ribs and Tater Salad. Good. :D
Just out of curiosity we drove by our Walmart. I had heard that it was boarded up, and yes it is.
We're thirty miles south of Minneapolis but they're worried about the looters. Everything is plywood
except the doors to enter and exit. I suppose they have plans for them too.
Went across the street to Aldi's and their glass is fully exposed.
Well, I suppose those discerning shopper from the inner city aren't after food, are they?
More like TVs, Nike's, ect.
Nothing but animals.

Gave the Rebel Chef another try today. When they first opened we didn't like their food, but lately
its gotten better. Had a pulled pork dip with fries. Interesting because they fry up the pork on a grill
with onions, green peppers, cheese and Jalapenos. I've never had it quite like that and it was really
good. I had that once before and couldn't eat it all as it was so huge, so this time we asked if we
could share and they divided it up on two plates for us. Still couldn't finish all the fries.

Maybe I didn't explain what the Rebel Chef is. We expected southern food. Nope, it's burghers
all types of sandwiches and a bar. Don't know why they think they're rebels.

Lunch was a Red Lobster. They seem to change their menu weekly now days.
Had a deep fried fish with French Fries and cole slaw. It was pretty good.
Some of the old favorites are back on the menu from pre covid.
I know, not real sea food place, but that's about all we've got here in the
land of ten thousand taxes and thirteen thousand lake.

Went to a place on a lake for lunch. Food is always pretty good there. I remember those Pan Pan Shrimp, well they
had something quite similar over a nice salad with a blue cheese dressing. More than I could eat. ;) But it was good.
Then went shopping for yard stuff. The temps hit 100 degrees and inside the green houses it was even hotter.
Dry heat though. Not too bad.
We live back in some heavy woods and it's always cooler here. As we drove in the Temp on the car went from 100
to 89 degrees in the half mile to the house. Those trees do make a difference.

Drove into town to the post office this afternoon. It hit 100 degrees on the way. :o
Arriving at home I took a picture of the difference in temps due to the trees and lake.
The first one is a little greenish because of the sun on the dash.
