Some of the rounds are in neighbors back yards as tables. One neighbor is sanding and varnishing some.

for a tree that size, you didn't come out to bad at all .... we used to run a tree cutting service and use Stihl saws .... I've never run one with a bar the size of the one in the picture, it would be interesting to do so

Only one guy knew how to run that bar and make a flat cut. He was good at it too.

proof of his work can be seen in your pictures of the cross sections .... I'd love to have been able to operate that type of saw/blade with his level of expertise

The guy that did it was only 21 years old. I talked to him and he went out cutting with his father when he was in grade school. His boots cost him $600. They were great for climbing a tree but he could barely walk in them.

Yep Climbing boots are great for climbing but not for walking. Soles have the cush of concrete. I still have my Red Wing pole climbing boots I bought in the early '90's for phone pole work.

We've been getting some tree work done here too. Private road with 5 homes on it. A bunch of white pines line the entry road. About 30 mysteriously died a year or so ago. We think an adjacent property owner sprayed weed killer on them when spraying his overgrown fence. Anyway 3 days ago we had a tree service take them down and get rid of the mess. While they were here several of us decided to get them to do work on our own properties. I think they may be back out tomorrow to take out about 12 big evergreens for me. A couple are dead and a few need thinning. I could do it but I have enough to do right now. Worth the money to save me some time.

Like a lot of things. Tree cutting is young mans work! Especially if it involves climbing with saws.
