Well, the 10 car didn't get it done last week but sure got it done this week after his teammate ran out of gas.

Congrats to Aric Almirola on a great win.

Great race today and looked like a great turn out to boot.

Also good finishes for Allmendinger (6th), Menard (9th), Regan Smith (10th) and Brendan Gaughan (12th).

And how Jimmie Johnson salvaged a 7th was sure a strange surprise. His car looked pretty wrecked after spinning and hitting the wall like he did earlier in the race.

I still can't help but wonder if next year when the Ford teams switch to running Mustangs if they will have as much trouble getting them dialed in as the Chevy teams have had with switching to the Camaro ...???

Looks like SHR also still has all 4 cars in the championship hunt.

So last weekends win was the 500th for Penske
https://www.supercars.com/news/champion ... nskes-500/

Goldcoast race was this weekend for our Aussie V8's, a few demo laps in Joey Logano, 2016 Ford Fusion for a couple of the drivers. One of them is the young bloke I think might end up in Nascar down the track. The old bloke at the end of the clip is Dick Johnson, he sold the major share in his team to Penske. Did a few nascar races in 1989/90.

220 ....

just curious, has Marcos Ambrose returned to Australia .. :?: .. do hope he's enjoying his retirement, I enjoyed following him on road courses while he was in the Cup series

he also introduced this country to Vegemite .... after seeing the reactions from folks who tried it, I don't foresee doing so .. :?

Marcos did return to Aus and signed to drive for Penske in 2015, Raced the last round of 2014 as a wildcard and did the first 2 races of 2015 then stepped down and drove 3 more races as a co-driver. The cars and championship had moved on in the 10 years he was gone and he struggled for pace running mid field at best. The very limited testing they are allowed to run just didn't let him get back up to speed in the cars.
A shame as he was one of my favourite drivers but I take my hat of to him, very few athletes will walk away from their sport when they are at the top of their game, rated as the best and try something else. He didn't have a lot of success in Nascar but did have some and gave it a go.

Similar story to Rugby league player Jarryd Hayne who walked away from Rugby League rated as the best player in the game and tried NFL.
He made the training squad for the 49ers, first season then made it onto the roster, played a few games got cut made it back onto the squad then walked after one season and tried to make the Fiji rugby 7;s squad for the Rio Olympics. He has returned to RL his first season back he didn't make much impact but towards the end of this season showed touches of brilliance that had him rated the best when he walked away.

Marcos has been very quite since retiring you don't see him in the media at all, the only article I have seen about him in the last 6 months was a bit of a advertorial in a rural paper
