Awesome Redthies! Can't wait to see and hear about it. It should come with shims that may help with fit, if needed.
I left mine as was right out of the box. Good deal!

My Mossberg pump (Turkey /Waterfowl) fit great right out of the box too. I guess it might be worth looking at getting it fit, as by “great” I mean I was able to hit whatever I was aiming at. There might be some improvement to be made, I’m just not an expert with shotgun fitting.

Apparently there has been a delay in export permits being issued, so I will have to wait a bit longer... Bummer.

So I came home from a couple of days in Portland to see this notice up on the website of the company I ordered my 930 from. To say I’m a bit nervous is an understatement, since they have yet to contact me for shipping instructions or my PAL (personal FFL) number. I fired off an email asking for a response TOMORROW. I tried contacting them on the 26th of July and got no response. At least all the other interactions I’ve found on various firearms forums have been 100% positive...

I’ve now started a dispute resolution with Visa. I’ve also had a Duck Commander model of the 930 set aside at a local store as a back-up. That would mean buying a turkey barrel too, but at least I might have something in time for hunting season...

So Visa credited me back the money paid for the unlikely to ever arrive shotty, and as a coincidence, Cabelas has a sale on and I found a 930 Pro Waterfowl for a lot less than I was going to pay for the Turkey/Field. It is a better base model with better coatings and stainless innards. The only thing is that I will have to find a turkey barrel at some point. I paid $525 for the 930 Pro which is way under MSRP, so the extra barrel is stil in budget.

I took the dogs out for a grouse hunt this past week. The new shotty was a joy to shoot! With 2 3/4” #7 skeet loads (I like the low power for grouse) it has almost no recoil. I’ll be interested to see how it is with 3” waterfowl loads, but it should be far better than the old pump.

Pics below of the bird dog, bird (inandout of the pan), and camp spot. Good times were had by all. We also saw mule deer does and buck and a cow and calf moose. I’m headed back to the same spot next week with the .357 to track down those deer!
