I have the 20 ga. and added my Streamlight for a nice bedside defense gun.

Re: Anyone Handled the Mossberg Shockwave?
I ended up being gifted the 12ga model Shockwave as payment for services rendered. To make it even better, these were "services" that I rendered with ZERO expectation for remunerations.
I had no clue it was headed my way, which made the gift even more special.
So, I now have the 12ga and the .410bore. The 20ga will follow shortly I'm sure.
As a side note, I made a discovery purely by accident, but one that others may find handy as well.
The .410bore version of the Shockwave has a smaller profile handguard than the 12ga.
The .410 versions handguard fits perfectly, and is held in place nicely, by an old, no longer used, Mag-Lite wall clip.
My .410 Shockwave now hangs at the ready, just inside a strategic doorway in my house.
A quick grab and it's ready for action.

Re: Anyone Handled the Mossberg Shockwave?
Finally shot my 12 gauge Shockwave. 5 rounds of 00 buckshot and I was very impressed. Recoil was not as bad as I was expecting but I have the laser equipped model and the laser housing has a slightly raised section that is right at the base of my thumb, not sharp but still hurts when I fire it. Will find some kind of sturdy, smooth tape to wrap around it.

Re: Anyone Handled the Mossberg Shockwave?
Bought the 20 gauge shockwave today. I have been considering it for 4 weeks and waiting for someone else to snap it up. Stopped in today and it was still there. They knocked a few bucks off so I brought it home. 12 gauge is rough for me to handle with a pistol grip and I have not seen 410 shells in ages so the 20 gauge seemed like a good choice. Now I want to find a light and mount. I may shoot it tomorrow and I will let you know how it works for me.

Congrats Ernie on the 20 ga. ! I think that size is right handy and still packs a good punch.

I had forgotten about this old thread, and when I updated my shockwave a few months ago with a light and red dot, started a new thread. Check it here.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
