Agree. I have always thought the lever action shotguns were interesting. Frankly, I have never seen one in up close and personal, but would love to try one.
I saw and handled an original this past weekend.

Really cool.

JEBar, have a friend over on levergun Scoundrels that owns more Marlins than I have firearms period.

This past weekend several of us went up to Minn. and did some pheasant hunting, he brought an original with him.
No, he didn't hunt it, just brought it for show and tell.
It is in very good shape, and a cool piece.

How about pheasants?
This past weekend I have two friends that used 410's.
One was an older gentleman with a bad shoulder, and the a sxs 410 was about the only thing he could lift.
I know he got one, and pretty sure he got a second.

I have relatives in South Dakota who pheasant hunt with a 410 .... sometimes they use them on a local sporting clays course .... when it comes to dove hunting or sporting clays, I value a wide pattern with as many shot as possible  ....

A 410 shotgun is actually a Marlin tradition, by the way. As kids, we had a friend who had a marlin 410 lever gun that had been in his family for generations. Don't remember the exact model, but do remember it could only shoot paper shells. Plastic hulls wouldn't cycle. Anyway, have fun with yours.

As someone who shoots types of handguns that are a bit off the beaten path, when someone asks, why, I always say, why not?
