Greyhawk, I too am sorry to hear of your loss. That would be a tough one.
As to what firearm to purchase; I'd opt for the Marlin .45 Colt. Those don't come around everyday. Take that .454 out West. Get the .45 Colt and think on the 10mm next time. That work? Take care.

Agree with Tom Greyhawk. If you really like the Marlin Id grab it first. You can always get a 10 but you cant always find a nice MArlin.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Agree on the Marlin. My JM Marlin cowboy in 45 Colt was one of the guns I really regret letting go. It was one of the most accurate lever guns I've ever owned. Wished I could get it back.

I finally decided on a 10mm to buy. It is a Kimber Camp Guard 10. Made in collaboration between Kimber and the RMEF. https://www.rmef.org/product/kimber-camp-guard-10mm/ Pretty sweet gun. Looks great and seems like it will carry nice. This will be a woods gun for me. Hoping to get a bear permit this fall, so this will supplement by bow. Supposed to find out June 1 if I get drawn. I'm looking forward to getting this to the range. This is kinda a crappy pic, but the gun is still at my FFL. My permit should be here in a week or so and I'll get a better pic when I get it home.
