Mossberg MC1

Post by JEBar » Wed Feb 05, 2020 11:04 am

until last night I had no clue that Mossberg is producing a handgun .... saying right up front that I'm not a fan of semiautomatic handguns but I was most certainly impressed by the MC1 .... it is chambered for 9mm ammo and I was told that its almost identical to a Glock 43, their magazines are interchangeable .... they sell for under $300

I find myself intrigued by these little pistols. Please let me know your shooting impressions.

I'd love to have an opportunity to fire it but doubt that will happen .... it belongs to a long time friend from Oregon who is camped with us in Texas, they are due to head out in the morning .... I asked him about shooting it and he said it handles great .... he's fired a bunch of Blazer ammo with no issues whatsoever .... he said he prefers the longer magazine .... the sights shown are not stock, he installed them ....the stock ones have white dots

Im like you Jim not a fan of the tupperware guns at all. Not saying there not good guns there just not for me. Only semi autos I own are 1911 based. Outside of that CZ's I do like the CZ semi autos. Shot a sig P365 recently which would be along the same lines as this one. Didnt care for it.

Slang term commonly used to describe guns made of polymer.. Like Glocks, Smith M&P and so on.

I am intrigued that Mossberg entered the market with a handgun. It reminds me of my Glock 43. Al, I like my Glocks. They are like a Timex to me, they take a licking and keep on ticking. They just keep going, polymer or not. I hope this Mossberg entry is similar. No, they have not replaced my revolvers in my heart.

Ive owned them and tried to shoot them. They are definitely tools of the trade. Drag them thru the mud the blood and the beer and they keep on tickin. But I still cant stand the way the fit in my hand and I just cant shoot one worth beans. Give me a CZ Dave any day anytime.

the fellow who owns it said the owner of the place where he bought it said its almost an exact copy of the Glock 43 .... he uses Glock 43 magazines in his MC1

I have a pair of Tupperware! My first is the Glock 23 .40 and about 1 1/2 year ago I picked up the Springfield XDE in .45 ACP

The XDE is my carry pistol and shoots very well and easier to carry compared to my Ruger 1911. Have no failures of any kind so far and the sights are great.

Give one a try one day Al!
