The only ones purchased in 2019.
Mark, been meaning to ask you. How's that Single Ten working out for you? That's a sharp looking gun. That F/O sight doesn't bother me at all.

Thank you NCG.
Unfortunately, did not put but maybe 50 rounds through it so far. Got it only a short time before close of the mountain cabin....only place I have to shoot outdoors. Did, however enjoy those few rounds and only 2 miss fires which I blame on the ammo. They were different chambers on the wheel. Lots of fun though so far. Just might be one of my favorites...well, they're all favorites, :D you know what I mean.
I do like the F/O's.
Thanks for asking, and Happy New Year!

There were a few but since this is the one I had been wanting for the longest time I would have to say this is the one.

Always cool when you get one that you've been waiting a long time to bring into the gun cabinet. There are a lot of sharp-looking semi-autos being made nowadays, and you picked a nice one. Enjoy!

Thank you sir.

Actually the more guns I buy I find myself looking more at those that were made previously just because there are very few which receive the same personal attention or of the same quality that you used to be able to buy. However this is one that received some of that attention that appeals to me. Although it's true that the methods may have gotten better with regards to how good CNC or MIM parts are now being made better it's that craftmanship that tends to be lacking which appeals to me most.

Besides for me a 1911 just as lever guns and SAAs are something that I grew up with and although this one is more of a today version it's not one of those plastic fantastic guns that just don't appeal to me.

I understand everything you are saying, Dan. Couldn't agree more on how difficult it is to find that old, hand fitted craftsmanship, these days. It's the very thing that drives much of the collectible gun market, now.

Also, even though my husband and I are about as hardcore as it gets with our preference for revolvers, I will never be without at least one good 1911. My two Dan Wessons aren't in the same class as that magnificent Wilson of yours, but I am well pleased with the quality and the performance of both.

Yeah, I hate that. That is I hate the fact it's getting harder to find manufactures that do that quality type or work or utilize that degree or kind of craftmanship.

Dan Wesson makes an excellent 1911 and I have Dan Wesson Valor myself. When actually comparing mine to my Wilson Combats you can really see what a great job they really do. The most noticeable differences is the finish and the variety of finishing possible with a Wilson Combat but you have to look rather close to notice some of the other differences. However I have always just really liked the little bit of extra attention to detail you can get with something like you can expect to get from someone like a Wilson Combat. For me the point of diminishing returns works in reverse of what I generally spend as I tend to really enjoy the finer details more and I get more return and not less. I also appreciate the vast number of options you have but here again most of these are visual with only a few being functional and even then I know Dan Wesson is willing to accommodate upon request to a point from what I have read. There really is something to what they say when a good portion say Dan Wesson is one of the best bang for your buck when it comes to a 1911. That probably very well is the case, but that's just not what works best for me.

From taking a good look around at other 1911 manufactures there are in fact a good number of others that actually originally worked for Wilson Combat. I am just becoming aware of some of these other ones and what they are capable of doing. Wilson Combat as anyone has their strengths and weaknesses and although there maybe other viable alternatives for now I was more comfortable going with Wilson Combat.
