New Glock PIstol

Post by Top Dog » Thu Dec 12, 2019 11:19 am

I have heard that Glock has recently introduced a new pistol. Model 44,a 22LR,ten round magazine. Weighs a little over one pound loaded.

Retail is about $400 (probably less). A friend of mine that works at a gun shop in Ohio says they should be out by late January (maybe) and his shop plans on selling them at $359.

Interesting TD and thanks for the info. I wonder why they limited it to 10 rounds. I'm assuming it's a single stack.
Certainly the capacity could go much higher given the size of .22 lr. I would like to know more about it though, and what it's intended use is. I'm sure it is very concealable, however, unless it's just intended to be a back-up, or just simply for plinking fun, I can't see a use for it.
I recently purchased a Ruger Single Ten which is very fun to shoot. I love revolvers, and, it's ten shots as well.
My carry weapon is a 9mm Springfield XDS and also conceals very easily. For SD, I'll stay with the more potent load.
Thanks again though. I do intend to research it. You have sparked my curiosity! 🤔

I suspect Glock was either selling enough of their .22 conversion kits to justify a dedicated .22 pistol
OR - they were selling a lot of .22 conversion kits and getting a lot of complaints. Historically .22 conversion kits do not have a great 'track record' of accuracy or reliability.

A spokesman in a vid about it mentioned 'It will use the exact same same trigger as your standard G19' so they are obviously thinking cheaper shooting, training etc. but with the standard Glock 'feel' & action. He also mentioned 'no more .22 conversions' so my guess to the reliability and quality of their conversion kit is probably correct.

Compared to some other poly .22s it has a typically 'clean' appearance and is essentially a G-19 in .22.
Regardless it is not receiving a lot of 'fanfare' on other forums where there is a lot of activity about it and most were guessing when Glock reported 'Something Big is coming' were guessing some sort of PCC.

The reason for the 10 round mag is pretty obvious......

I expect that after the release and if sales go well that higher capacity magazines will become available for sale where legal.
I am interested in seeing if any will show up for rental. Of course I would have to try one out.

I, personally don't see anything alluring there except for the fact, ( overlooked by me, ) that it might serve as a good training pistol, prior to a larger caliber.

If the magwell is only designed for the single stack mag then anything higher capacity will not be an option.

If this is the case an extended mag is a possibility but it might only add a round or two.
