As always, nicely done on the eval and conclusions.

I completely agree with the editorial comments regarding the easing of the qualification course and pushing the officers during "Training."

I was surprised to see the 1911 come out of the pistol case at the end. There are a lot of 1911 fans out there.

Howard, I liked how you offered ways to improve a course. Maybe, it may get back to the particular states. I also agree with your viewpoint with training vs qualifications. I have not had to teach a firearm course. But, I have had to teach, assess, and evaluate ships' combat system teams ability to perform their mission. During the course of my service, I a!so authored two training course that were used by the Atlantic a d Pacific Fleets before I retired. So, your assertion of qualifications should be based as if a person's life depends on it rings true to me.
