Im just so Lucky got to buy a really good condition S&W Masterpiece 17-2 with 6" barrel, originalbox, 1owner who bought it new 1967 who recently has passed away. Got it for a bargain price from his son who was glad to pass it on to someone who appriceate the gun. A little wear in the blueing on front edge of the barrel probably wear from a holster but thats about it. Ive been searching for a revolver like this for a while. Now I just have to wait for the paperwork to get done

Doesn't get any better than that in a classic 22 DA revolver. Better, yet, that appears to be a 3T version with a wider target hammer, a wider target trigger and target grips. Look on the label on the box to see if it was shipped that way. Do let us know how it shoots (and I do hope you ill shoot it - be a shame not to shoot a Model 17).

Love these old revolvers, Recessed cylinders, pinned barrel, they are a beutiful piece of craftmanship, the finish, the blueing, and not to mention the trigger in SA is amazing. Ofcourse I will shoot it, Actually I never heard about the term 3T version, interesting. It has a wide hammer and trigger and what I belive is targetgrips. On the label it says TS on stock, TH is checked, TT is checked.

If those boxes are checked on the label, then you do have a factory 3T. Congrats. Back in the day, you could order a Smith with any combination of the Ts or just go with a gun without any of them. Dealers usually did the ordering, but customers could also send their guns back to Smith to get what they wanted. This sort of factory supplied upgrade was more common in those days. Ruger did it, too, on some of their models. These days, of course, you pretty much take a gun as it comes from the factory. If you want to do any customizing, you're on your own.

Ive been looking for one myself. Like NCG says dont get any better than that. Nice find for sure.
