Based on how limited my future gun purchases will probably be, I think I've decided to up the ante a bit by holding out long enough to make a " quality " purchase. Could not find a Ruger Wrangler yet to touch and feel, however, I don't really see myself going that route.
I do take pride enough in my small collection to not own a Bic Lighter of a gun. More looking and shopping is in my near future.
Unlike some, my budget does not allow me to just go out and buy an arm that catches my fancy on the spot.
A friend of mine who owns one of the LGS's said he would order a R-Wrangler just so I could check it out, even knowing at that at this point I probably would not buy it. Nice C/S locally.
Anyway...think after a bit more research, unless something else pops up, will end up with a Ruger Single Six. Few hundred more maybe...but, I'm not getting any younger an definitely can't afford an old Colt. Dang...would love a Thunderer with Ivory grips...
Oh, and I highly recomend Single Ten over the Single Six for sights and number of rounds.

Yes, I was wondering..why not just go ahead and get the 10. Same price...I think. If there would be any reason to not get the 10, then I'm all ears!

I'll second that recommendation for the Single Ten. No extra magnum cylinder, but that was never a factor for me, anyway. It does have non-traditional fiber optic sights, which may be a turn off for some, but they really are very nice for shooting.

Non-traditional FO sight would not bother me a bit. Thx NCG!

One of the arguements I am aware of is that the Six is more traditional when it comes to SA Revolvers. But frankly at the range even though it's a more patient type of shooting and I do like the time and interaction the Single Ten is just more convienient.

Here's some non-traditional optics for you. Used piece, but looks to be in good shape.

Checked LGS up near our cabin for prices of the Ruger single 10. This is the store where I bought both of my Henrys.
They quoted $515.00 ( blued ) & $561.00 ( SS ).
Opinions on these prices and/or opinions on finish would be greatly appreciated.

.
Here they are $560.00 ( blued ) & $620.00 ( SS ), no sales tax in Oregon. [update add: FFL txfr depending on LGS ranges $10-45. Background check $10.]

Here's a NIB Stainless on GB for $539, Free Shipping, No Tax, No CC Fee. All you'd pay is your FFL transfer fees, but if those are $25, you're within a few bucks of buying locally, as you trade off NOT paying FFL fees, but probably paying sales tax. Depends on your local tax rate and FFL fees.
My opinion is to go stainless. Easier to care for, less prone to showing every nick and scuff.
