Blue book Sig P226 Blackwater non tactic

Post by Joe.45 » Fri Jan 25, 2019 12:43 am

Hi guys, any of you with a gun blue book value want to do me a solid?
I have a Sig P226 Blackwater, non tactical, the one with five 15 rounds mags, not the one with 20-round mags.
Anyways the Sig has only fried about 400 rounds. I would say is at 99% condition.
A friend of mine offered me $750 for her.
Since the gun is so old I have no point of reference in the internet because most of the guns there are the tactical version,
Any help would be appreciated.
Ty

Sorry I cannot help you on the blue book pricing, Ty....I'm mostly a wheel gun person.
But I had to comment that you have a really cool-looking 8-) pistol there; especially like the grips!

I'm checking with a buddy of mine who might have a Blue Book or equivalent. Assume it's 9mm?

Do you know the born on date? Do you have all the regular "extra stuff," like hard case, manual, lock, etc.?

The "U" in the S/N would mean it was assembled in the US, so I"m assuming there's no test target. Are you the original owner?

I'm learning a bit about grading of firearms with this. For example, "100%" is unfired, in the box, all the stuff that came from the factory, never fired. If there's no paperwork and it's still unfired, it drops to 98%. Here's a screen shot my pal sent me. Bottom line is $750 seems fair/low, as the extra mags add probably $75-80 in value right there. On the other hand, as I read this, you'd subtract $50 from the above values for it not being the original "Tactical" version (threaded barrel, bigger mags, etc.).
You're in the neighborhood, so it comes down to a judgement call, the closeness of the "friend," your motivation as a seller, do you have other costs to get it sold (shipping), all that.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the many replies. BTW she is 9mm, with original box and papers but has fired 400 rounds. Never carried, safe queen, and she came from factory with five 15 round mags. She was manufactured in 2008. Ballistol has kept her looking young and very clean.

The used gun market is very 'soft' right now - especially for relatively common semi auto pistols.
I have a 9mm CZ 75BD with a few accessories up for sale right now (and for a very good price) and no takers.
A few years age it would have most likely already sold much faster but not now.
While $750 might seem low you might want to 'comp' it out with similar guns for sale - I have and if you have an offer at this price you might want to take it (it's actually about average for this particular gun)
There are a LOT of good, semi auto pistols selling for much less than this and quite frankly the the word 'Blackwater' attached to this gun really has no bearing on it's value. GLWS!
