I like the spot-on article answer to why "A Revolver Renaissance" based on an "over-100-year-old design" is happening today.
Revolvers do work, and work well. :)

Gonna keep on keeping on with my wheelguns!

I don't know what I'd do with the grips;
Well maybe nothing since it is shown with Presentations on it and you may like them as it is - which brings up another thought. I did NOT see where the ad said it came with the ORIGINAL grips and 'technically' this will reduce the value somewhat. However as the auction is ending tomorrow with no bids It could be no one is interested OR some are and the plan is to try to 'snipe' it right at the end of the close of the auction. Hey you may get lucky and score it for the $425 minimum - but I would probably stop at $475 - maybe $500 tops. A couple of these recently sold in Oregon for Smokin' prices (one was $450 and another $375 which was really good and he could have got more) but guns tend to run lower in Oregon than other places. Remember you have shipping and any applicable FFL fees so take this into consideration.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

This one on GB is just as interesting. Original grips AND stainless (not blued) adjustable rear sights, which seems very different. It also has the integrated front blade, but no orange on the ramp. Almost a 67-No-Dash, but I thought those had fixed rear sights and that the 67-1s had adjustable blued rear sights.
Anybody know?

The MOD 67 is the adjustable sight version regardless of the 'dash' number - the MOD 65 is the fixed sight style.
The model you mention with the SS rear is the earlier version, and like my MOD 66 which also had the SS rear sight.
The reason I say 'HAD" is because I replaced it with a blued rear as the SS sights were terrible and caused a glare in bright sunlight and I believe were dropped after only two years because of this.
Almost a 67-No-Dash
Almost a 67 No-Dash? It either is or isn't but it is most likely a No-Dash due to the SS rear and the non-plastic inset front.

Looks like a 67 No Dash with the SS rear and the non-inset front and original grips.
Not bad but it has some dents on the frame and trigger guard.
I would concentrate on the other one if you plan to shoot it. It has the blued rear and inset front and the Packy grips - but man, with shipping on top of it $475 would be it.

It's a tough call. The auction ending dates work in my favor. The one with the blued sights ends tomorrow and has an opening bid of $425 and zero bids received. It I can't scoop that one up, the No Dash could be the back-up.

Any ideas on what the "V" stamp on the cylinder signifies? Searched the S&W forum but couldn't come up with anything definitive...
