The 1911 Slippery Slope
The 1911 Slippery Slope
Not long ago I decided it was time I ventured into the world of 1911’s. After some searching, I found exactly what I wanted- and older Colt Series 70 with adjustable target sights. The gun came, and I was happy as a pig in mud. In fact, here it is in happier times:

Alas, one day at the range, my front sight fell off. It was off to the gunsmith, who said he can fix it. How long will it take? That is one of life’s great mysteries. The only rational thing to do? Well, buy another 1911. That was obvious. So I did. A nice shiny Ruger SR1911 Target Model. It’s a really nice shooter:

Re: The 1911 Slippery Slope
By this time, I’m heading down the slope, and quickly picking up speed. I was innocently browsing on GunBroker when a nice Colt Gold Cup caught my eye. I submitted a lowball bid on it. A few days later... I am the proud owner of another 1911:
This last one hasn’t been to the range yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it shoots.
Meanwhile, I need more. It’s truly an addiction. I’m thinking about a Dan Wesson. Maybe the A2 like North Country Gal has, or perhaps a Valkyrie Commander...

Re: The 1911 Slippery Slope
I've been wanting to get a 1911 for a while now, but getting my BBB .357 and then the .357 Blackhawk to go with it pretty much blew my new gun budget for the year (or two).

Well... you could always just stop eating and use the money you save to purchase firearms.dave77 wrote:I've been wanting to get a 1911 for a while now, but getting my BBB .357 and then the .357 Blackhawk to go with it pretty much blew my new gun budget for the year (or two).

Not sure I want a 1911 that bad although I could stand to lose 30-40 lbs (OK, 50 lbs )
